Monopoles and Spatial String Tension in the High Temperature Phase of SU(2) QCD

چکیده
We studied a behavior of monopole currents in the high temperature (deconfinement) phase of abelian projected finite temperature SU(2) QCD in maximally abelian gauge. Wrapped monopole currents closed by periodic boundary play an important role for the spatial string tension which is a nonperturbative quantity in the deconfinement phase. The wrapped monopole current density seems to be non-vanishing in the continuum limit. These results may be related to Polyakov’s analysis of the confinement mechanism using monopole gas in 3-dimensional SU(2) gauge theory with Higgs fields.

String tension and monopoles in T 6 = 0 SU ( 2 ) QCD
Monopole and photon contributions to abelian Wilson loops are calculated using Monte-Carlo simulations of finite-temperature SU(2) QCD in the maximally abelian gauge. Long monopole loops alone are responsible for the behavior of the string tension in the confinement phase up to the critical βc. Short monopole loops and photons do not contribute to the string tension. The abelian and the monopol...

The dual superconductor mechanism [1] of color confinement is confirmed in many numerical simulations in the Maximal Abelian (MA) gauge [2] (for a review, see Ref. [3]). This mechanism is based on the existence of the Abelian monopoles which are condensed in the confinement phase of QCD [4,5]. The monopole condensate corresponds to the so-called percolating (infrared) cluster [6,7] of the monop...
متن کاملMonopoles and string tension in SU(2) QCD
Monopole and photon contributions to abelian Wilson loops are calculated using Monte-Carlo simulations of SU(2) QCD in the maximally abelian gauge. The string tension is well reproduced only by monopole contributions, whereas photons alone are responsible for the Coulomb coefficient of the abelian static potential.

The key feature of the dual superconductor mechanism [1] of the color confinement in non– Abelian gauge theories is the Abelian monopole condensation (for a review, see, e.g., Ref. [2]). The monopole condensate is formed in the low temperature (confinement) phase and it disappears in the high temperature (deconfinement) phase [3]. The monopoles provide a dominant contribution to the tension of ...

We study the potential between a static center monopole and antimonopole in 4d SU(2) Yang–Mills theory. Using a new numerical method, we show that the ’t Hooft loop is a dual order parameter with respect to the Wilson loop, for the deconfinement phase transition. We observe a 3d Ising–like critical behaviour for the dual string tension related to the spatial ’t Hooft loop as a function of the t...
